Flight search site SkyScanner has reported that there has
been a significant increase in one-way flights to cities deemed “safe” from the
Mayan Doomsday prophesy.
Over 60,000 visitors are thought to have
bought flights to the tiny Turkish village, whose population just passes the
600 mark. So far locals have started cashing in on the splurge of tourists by
creating “apocalypse safe” products
Bugarach has tried to handle the hysteria by banning “UFO
Watching” on the town’s pic de Bugarach Mountain, the spot where the aliens are
expected to land.
Currently 57% of Britons are aware of the Mayan Doomsday
prophecy, while 13% confess to being “worried.”
